Representasi Identitas Budaya Lokal Dalam Desain Homestay Di Desa Wisata Wukirsari Bantul Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta

The presence of homestays in tourist villages becomes a space for the representation of cultural values. This cultural representation becomes a unique attraction because tourists not only enjoy the destination but also experience the atmosphere of the community's daily life. This research aims to understand the forms of representation of local cultural identity in homestay designs and the role of homestays in representing local culture to enhance tourist attraction in Wukirsari Tourism Village, Bantul. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques thru observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results show that the representation of local culture in the homestays is reflected thru the traditional Javanese architectural style, the use of local materials such as wood and bamboo, and interior ornaments that feature batik elements. The three homestays that are the subjects of the research, namely Sekararum Homestay, Sungsang Homestay, and Adiluhung Homestay, exhibit different characters, yet all represent the values of local wisdom. The findings also show that homestays are not just places to stay, but they offer authentic cultural experiences and strengthen the image of Wukirsari Tourism Village as a cultural tourism destination. The conclusion of this research emphasizes that homestays are not merely places to stay, but also media for cultural preservation and supporters of tourist attractions based on local wisdom. The recommendation from this research is that homestay owners should improve the quality of services and facilities, optimize promotion thru digital media, and maintain local wisdom as the main identity so that homestays remain attractive and competitive. Additionally, for future research, it is suggested to further examine the relationship between cultural representation, tourist experiences, and the sustainability of tourist villages.
